What to wear home from surgery?

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions? I do not have any button up shirts and I am not going to want to wear a hoodie bc it has been 90 degrees here this week!!!

Is it too hard to put on a tshirt?

I picked up a cheap cotton sundress. I wore it home and practically lived in it for two weeks. :-)

T-shirt and yoga pants, what I wore to the hospital, also wore home. I had no problem putting the shirt on. If you wear a bra make sure it's soft and a bit loose.

I wore a peasant blouse and shorts in and that's what I wore out. I could not stand the thought of a bra out so I went commando. Not good for a 40 DD. Lol.

On that note my husband wants a refund for the surgery. This morning I made him take me up to target for a cheap cotton bra. Just something without wires and really soft. Since surgery I can't stand the underwires on my bra. I ended up getting a 38 D instead of ny normal 40 DD. looks like my girls are going to go first. I had a breast reduction when I was 22 and was a 32 full C. Id love to get BA k to that size instead of these huge boobahs!!!

Wear something comfortable to the hospital that you can wear home again on the day you leave. I wore elastic waist pants and a loose fitting top. I was fine putting them on after surgery, but like the others said above I didn't even attempt the bra (I had an incision close to where the bra would have been).

I didn't wear a bra when I had my band an my saggy boob rubbed the upper incision the whole way home, was irritating as heck so this time (I feel like a surgery pro) I brought a soft one that just sorta holds em up a bit, worked well.

If you go in the Maternity section, most stores have the most comfortable T-shirts and pants (with strechy waist). The less the effort the better pain wise.

Oh yeah ... I highly recommend comfy flip-flops.

I wore home a loose tank top and stretchy pajama pants. No problem. Actually wore my house shoes since they rolled me out in wheelchair and I was going straight home.

I bought a cheap front hook bra from Walmart. Was comfortable to sleep in as well when I was there.

Every time Dr. B gets me (this was my third surgery be him :/) he uses 1 tiny incision way up high on the left, I believe its where the camera goes....it's always the smallest yet most annoying of my incisions.....but yes, the boob rubbing it was MISERABLE...but luckily I earned that lesson after the first surgery!

I've never had ta ta's lol. My bra doesn't rub the top incision but it probably would if I was bigger than a b cup.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
