shershrinking 53 Posted June 30, 2013 I am a nurse, also planning to have surgery. The catheter is your friend!(LOL). It really doesnt hurt, and will only be in overnight because the pain meds inhibit your ability to pee. (you can injure your bladder and kidneys if you dont pee).
