I never realized what an emotional eater I was until I couldn't really eat anymore!!! I've been in tears for days.

Same here. And now that I have a Strictire I can't eat anything at all! I'm so upset and really regretting this.

I just keep telling myself that I love food but it doesn't love me. It was killing me. This is all temporary.

My mini pep talks only help so much. Went shopping today for something to do... Since I can't eat!

I was there with you and all I can say is it does get better;(. I have to keep reminding myself why I have done this to myself but in the end I'm better off....it's ok to mourn food...

We all know the feeling. I was just explaining to my husband who doesn't understand, that I don't feel comfortable in my skin anymore. My stomach feels weird all the time, whether it be just uncomfortable, pain or nausea, it just doesn't feel right anymore. At times I regret my decision and get depressed over food but besides my discomfort, I feel much better and am in a happier place mentally. Keep your head up and have faith that it WILL get better.

I don't regret the surgery but I am angry, right now. Angry with this damn stricture until it gets fixed. I admit, I do miss normal food but I never want to go back to who I was pre-op.

Ride the storm until blue skies.

I completely understand. I'm only a week out and sometimes I think why in the world I did this to myself. When I'm depressed I swear there is no talking me out of the negativity. Now that I'm feeling better it makes me thing OMG I really was addicted to food! What would have happened toy life if I hadn't made this change. I gained 75 pounds last year. Where on earth would I be in 5 years from now. At the end of the day, I'm thankful I was given a tool that is helping me break the addition. And let's be honest, I wasn't really all that happy before anyway.

It is a strong person who makes the decision to rearrange their insides for a better quality of life. Think of all you have been through already! You have to be a fighter to get through pre-op and you did...

You can do this!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
