Crystalynn Alhashim 4 Posted June 21, 2013 I am having gastric bypass surgery July 3rd and my drs is also taking out my gall bladder since its full of stones. Is my insurance gonna cover the cost for the chole removal? Anyone know.. my insurance is Aetna..
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted June 21, 2013 You could call them and ask but very likely they will cover it. You have gallbladder disease and its not 'elective' like RNY often is considered. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight
BBdoodle 483 Posted June 21, 2013 Yes it should....as SoccerMomma said its not a elective. I had my RNY surgery and 10 wks after I had a really bad gallbladder attack and had to go under the knife again... I wish I knew to have a ultrasound done BEFORE RNY or I would of had all done at once. Mine was full of stones too but it never bothered me. You are luck to get all done at once.....good luck
