blytheswideshut 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Good luck for your surgery, and the doors that it may open for you. In the short time I've been reading here I have gained tremendous insight and strength from reading how others have got through it. Initially I was a bit scared about the whole "your band is a tool, it's up to you to use it" business - It's really not an analogy that sits well with me. But after reading a lot here about that, I'm growing more comfortable with it. food is such a big part of life for us - it's more than eating too much isn't it? Giving it up, and approaching it with an "eat to live" not "live to eat" mindset is a little bit scary. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend. I just made up my mind (over the course of 5 years!) that I don't want friends like that anymore. take care.

RightSize 0 Posted March 1, 2007 Well, I am now 4 days post surgery. Apart from severe shoulder pain, it has been pretty straight forward. Usually I am superwoman, and bounce back from surgery quickly. I had a 1hour business meeting today, and I am glad I am not due back to work full time until next week. I'm tired and sore. I am not really hungry. I am eating the diet prescribed by my dietitian. I have not lost any weight yet....feels weird. I thought for sure I would have lost 2kgs by now. Anyway...for those facing the surgery...its not too bad. I most pain I have right now is the bruising on/in my stomach. More later, Right Size

RightSize 0 Posted March 4, 2007 No problem, my doctor was Dr Garrett Smith at North Shore Weight Loss Surgery operating out of North Shore Private Hospital (behind the ROyal North Shore Hospital in St Leonards). http://www.nswls.com.au/ So far it has been a very good experience.
