I am six days out and struggling today. I think my husband is being insensitive which isn't like him at all. He got mad when he came home from work today because he left the mail on the kitchen counter and o sorted it and shredded the junk mail. Apparently there was a coupon he wanted that I shredded and he started yelling. I have been crying ever since. This is so hard and I think he thinks it is as easy as getting to be home from work. Now I can't stop crying and I feel sick to ny stomach. It is time for me to eat but I don't want to leave my room. I just wish he understood how hard this is and that I need his support now more than last week in the hospital. The normal me would have put him in his place but I just don't have it in ne right now.

Ironically I would normally want food in this situation but now I just want to cry.

As much as its a change for us, it's a change for them...your hormones are all over the place after surgery...it doesn't hurt to cry, let it out and I hope that he can see how ridiculous it was to yell at you over a coupon ...hang in there and take care of yourself

Oh no..I'm so sorry honey. It's a weird side effect of the surgery. It's like all the stored estrogen we have in our fat cells start throwing us all off. I think almost all of us go thru this in some form. I became a basket case and would have to just go cry it out. Just remember this too shall pass and you aren't alone..I myself went through it and would feel depressed and like nobody knew what I felt like. My husband thought I was nuts. Hang in there. Try to get ya some dinner and maybe things will feel a but better. I'm here if u need me.

Hormones for sure!!!! Go a head cry it out and eat. It's time. Hopefully he will see that even though he was outta line you are still doing what you need to do, and maybe a sorry is in order.

It's okay to cry. This change is HARD!!!

Surgery date 7/25/12

Oh do I know what you are talking about! I am 4 weeks out and an emotional mess! I love my hubby, but can't stand him right now. He tries to be understanding, but he is driving me crazy! I try to remind myself that 90% of it is my crazy hormones. This is normal and we will get thru it! Take care of yourself.

You all are right it is hormones. I am just used to going ninety to nothing and this anesthesia post surgery blues is something I wasn't completely prepared for. Im very sensitive and feel like I should feel further along already. I just took a shower and went out to the living room and he acted like nothing even happened. I can act too. Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
