I just had surgery on August 5th and I had the bad for a year and got gastric bypass. I am so happy I decided to have this revision because I HATED the band and I am praying that I love bypass. So far so good just in pain :/ haven't lost any weight yet I think it's from all the fluids' date=' it's making me so bloated. Does anyone no when you usually start losing?

Thanks!![/quote']

Hey I had mine on 7/31 and I gained 2 lbs due to the Water weight but if you stick to it now that is been a week I'm down 9 from my sw. Good luck and I hippie this works better for you!

I'm nervously sitting in the waiting room for my pre-op appointment. I've been dreaming about this, because I don't know what to expect. Sx date is 8/27. Hopefully this will go smoothly. Just wanted to share my nerves!

1day bf my surgery I know the feeling

Mz Shay

Oh, Mz Shay! I hope everything goes well with the endoscopy for you. I still have my endoscopy on Wednesday, the semi-liquid diet and I have to make certain that I do not have a yeast infection going on in the area where the incisions will be.

Today went ok other than my nerves.

Just got home from hospital about an hour ago. I went in Tuesday afternoon. Was supposed to be in surgery at 1:30 but dr was finishing another pt in another hospital. I finally go out of surgery around 8 Tuesday night. Wednesday was a bad day for me. Anything I drank I threw up and then some. I spoke to my dr and he said to just do the Iv for awhile because my stomach was all bruised and swollen. So I did not try any more liquids that day. Then Wednesday it was so much better. I have not thrown up again and I have no pain. My cuts just itch alot. Other than the throwing up, I feel great.

Highest weight 360. pre surgery 313, after surgery 329.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
