Jacqueline K 93 Posted June 17, 2013 I still have head hunger and have the urge to eat. However, every time I have eaten this weekend I feel sick to my stomach afterwards. It takes an hour or so for the nausea and upset to go away. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat! I'm a little over 2 weeks out. I'm thinking for the next couple days I'll just stick to Protein shakes and hope this issue goes away? Any advice? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
nienie 113 Posted June 17, 2013 You should really ask your surgeon for Zofran sublingual. I have had nausea on and off and I can relate and now when I have that feeling I just take a Zofran and it helps so much.

kjrny2013 33 Posted June 17, 2013 I second the Zofran suggestion!!!!! I am 10 weeks out and still need one every now and then. Mine are pills but they are very small and easy to swallow. I don't think I could have gotten this far without it!

I only was nauseous when I woke up from surgery. My problem was taste and smell. Many thing smelled like dirt to me in the beginning. I avoid head hunger by only eating when my alarm goes off. I still stick to it but it has gotten easier almost 4 months out... More like second nature. One thing I love is Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bars... Definitely a treat when nothing else is appealing. 80 calories and 6gm of Protein.< /p>
Jacqueline K 93 Posted June 17, 2013 Amen to all the zofran suggestions. The sublingual are great because the work pretty fast. I have some of the zofran pills. I took one yesterday and it did help. Problem is I don't want to use many as my insurance will only cover 12 of them every 30 days. My surgeon proscribed 15 and I only got 12. I wasn't nauseous till this weekend. I guess I can just see what the cost without insurance would be on them. I do fine as long as I don't eat which is why I figure this is temporary. Just going to steer clear of most food and focus on shakes? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
kjrny2013 33 Posted June 17, 2013 When I got my first prescription for them my insurance was the same...but it just took a phone call. So I got approved for up to 30 each month for 12 months.

Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk If they are 8mg u can split them a 4mg is usually pretty effective. It's (4mg)the lower dose prescribed. Idk if it would help but if he gave u 4mg maybe u could ask for 8mg and have more by splitting them and if 1 wasn't effective could take the full 8mg.
