SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted June 14, 2013 Depends on what you mean by flu...true influenza is a respiratory virus...you're just as likely to get it post op as you were pre-op and the flu shot will work just a well post-op as it did pre-op If you're referring to the 'stomach flu' yup, you still have a chance of catching it. It's typically just a virus and loves you as much now as it did before surgery. Either way good luck!!! Wash your hands like crazy and try to stay away from the sickos!!!!
