If Biotin increases hunger.... It makes sense! I have to eat every 2-3 hours. Well my dr suggests it and I thought I'm just used to it. But dang that makes sense!!!!

Thanks for sharing I had no idea!!!

Surgery date 7/25/12

FYI - Biotin INCREASES hunger. Not only have I experienced it' date=' it's a proven side effect - I will NOT take Biotin.

I am so pissed about my hair - I had this happen 2x in my life in the past 20 years. I have tried anything in the past to no avail. I really thought it wasn't going to happen.[/quote']

Maybe it won't increase your hunger. It hasn't for me..maybe it doesn't effect red heads! I also take B12. I had Hair loss when my b12 was low. I'm never Hungry and still have to set my alarm to remind me to eat. Try the biotin Shampoo

I think it does. I love my red hair... No one but me has to know its from a bottle lol. I haven't noticed the Biotin increasing my hunger either.

Any guys out there dealing with this? I have pretty short hair so any loss is going to jump out. I definitely would trade it for being healthier but I will take all steps possible to minimize.

for some reason i thought Hair loss would not happen to me because i am african american..

.not! lol! i have lost a lot of hair, more like thinning, length is still there but it is thin. This has been going on for 3 months now and i am 7 months out. I'm hoping it thickens up once the thinning episode ends.

I had crazy hair loss! It slowed down after 6 months. This is the first I have heard about the Biotin causing hunger, but my doc told me biotin does not prevent Hair loss, it only helps the strength of Hair growth. I take it because I am desperate for healthy and full hair again! Lol

Mine started at 3 months, I'm 4 months now. I thought I was prepared for it, and its way worse than I could have imagined. I'm afraid I'm gonna have bald spots on my scalp soon. I'm a hairstylist so this is my world!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
