Band Slippage

Recommended Posts

<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Hello all,

I was banded on 02/02/07 and beside the initial discomfort I have not had any problems. However, to be completely honest I cheat quite a bit, actually 3-4 days after surgery I had grilled chicken, chewed it really well and have not have a problem My question is has anyone out there had band slippage and if so, what indications did you have that the band slipped, i.e. pain, coughing, vomiting? I have been honest with my doctor regarding my cheating ways, he scolded me but ensured me that my band probably has not slipped because I have no pain and am able to eat just about anything. I also have not had a fill yet, so I don't have much restriction at all. Just wondering what it feels like to have a slipped band :)

Hiya Dori!

Good question! Just what I was wondering as well. I was only recently banded and have had some pain when I have eaten thicker/chunkier things e.g. some soft fruits and some mashed potato.

Am really interested to know about symptoms of band slippage too.

Cheers,

jude :hungry:

ANYWAY DR. PUT IN 1.8 cc and put me on liquids FOR 3 DAYS AND SAID wathch what I eat. meanwhile I have gained close to 8 pds in the 6 wks

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
