Just went out to Water the shrubs. It's so hot I almost soaked myself with the hose in the front yard. I really miss chugging icy cold water. : (

I miss chugging water more than anything. Who knew. It was so much easier to drink enough when I could gulp down half a bottle.

My stricture is still giving me trouble. I haven't been able to take in any fluids without throwing them up for almost 6 days. I have on the other hand been getting IV fluids every couple of days, but I am miserable. Yesterday I had my esophagus dilated again and injected with steroids and got absolutely no relief for the 1st time. Called my doctor am d be said it's so inflamed he's going to have to throw in the towel and finally put in a stent. Apparently they worry about them migrating and putting a hole in the esophagus. I have never been worried about any operation but this worries me. I think I'm mostly worried about the discomfort.

I didn't even think of having a Popsicle. That would have totally hit the spot. That's going to be my snack after I Water the shrubs again tomorrow. This heat is a killer.

Awe! Thanks! I'm sure combed hair in the 2nd pic does help a bit! ;) haha my fiancé snuck that picture of me a few days before surgery. I beggggggged him to delete it and he (lied!) and said he did! He actually saved it though to show me when he thought I would appreciate it and I truly did! I was so excited when he told me he still had it! I great pic to look at when I don't feel like hitting up the gym! Lol

Sometime in 2015... Because #1 I want to have all of my weight gone and #2 I have to graduate nursing school first or I'll lose my financial aid when they calculate his salary in as well. We aren't in a rush though! We enjoy our life together already (though truth be told, we would both love to run out and get married tomorrow... He's VERY anxious an excited!) lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
