Mel3620 299 Posted July 9, 2013 I can now see how some people become anorexic after this surgery I just said the same thing to my husband. I also read a thread about it on the post op forums.

I hope that eventually we all get the hang of this eating. Perhaps in a year we will all say it wasn't so bad.
kristlynngirl 184 Posted July 9, 2013 Mel try scrambled eggs but don't overcook them -I just nuke them for a minute in the microwave and they're usually done - and then mash in a Laughing Cow wedge. Keeps them really moist and soft!!! Turkey pepperoni with some cheese is a good snack or has been for me. As has string cheese. I found these frozen turkey meatballs that are 1oz each and cook up in the microwave - can only eat 1 but pretty tasty with some spaghetti sauce and a slice of provolone cheese. 2 purplecarnation and Rhyzell reacted to this

I will try those things tomorrow. I like the idea of the meatball, especially. Maybe I am cooking the egg too long. I will attempt it with the laughing cow cheese in the morning. Thanks for the ideas.

I've had much better luck just scrambling them with a little Water and popping them in the microwave. I also like ketchup on eggs (I'm a weirdo) and that is a good trick for keeping them moist too. And hard boiled eggs have been good to me, I just eat those with some salt and pepper. As for the meatballs they're made by Perdue I believe and come in bags of 16. They have plain and Italian seasoned - I like the Italian ones with sauce and cheese. Just be careful not to over nuke them they dry out easily.

hek1127 166 Posted July 9, 2013 I am with all of you! Getting enough Protein seems impossible. I tried today to really get my minimum of 70g and I felt full and sick all day. I feel like to get enough Protein I have to constantly eat something or drink a shake and that makes me feel awful! And these shakes are really starting to bother me. Tomorrow I am going to do some experimenting to find a decent shake combo. P.S I didn't make it to my minimum! Ugh!!! YoColeFleet 246 Posted July 9, 2013 You are not alone I had my gastric bypass 6/11/13 and I am having a real hard time getting my liquid in and I am very picky about what I want to eat. Me too, I seem to be so picky, but most days I get my liquids in.

I've been kind of lucky to be able to gain my Protein through good, soft foods like catfish, crab meat, tuna....and then a shake.< /p>

zuzuspetals 78 Posted July 9, 2013 Im so sorry about the troubles people are having. I feel very blessed that for me, so far, recovery has been good. I have lost 42 lbs, 28 of those before surgery and I am almost 2 weeks post op. Here's my fav Protein drink: 1 scoop Unjury chocolate (20 g prot), 1 cup unsweetened soy milk (7gr), 2 T PB2 powder (5g prot), 4 oz H2O, a squirt of vanilla sugar free Syrup and a squirt of chocolate sug free syrup. Over ice, just like a Reese's and not too sweet. I try to have 2 of those, sometimes w/ just Water b/ c if its too thick it's blech to me. Big hugs to all the losers! 2 hautechic13 and favor reacted to this
