iamworthit 208 Posted June 22, 2013 One of my incisions was left open to drain' date=' I change it everyday, I wonder how long does it take to heal??[/quote'] I am having the same problem with my G drain. Jelly like stuff oozes out of it around the drain hole. I am going g to call the dr on Monday and see if I can get in. My appt isn't until july 11th but this is totally grossing me out. I know id feel better if this drain were pulled and that hole allowed to close. Nothing is coming out of the drain valve anymore so that seems good.

My drainage tube was removed the morning After my surgery, however, my dressing consist of this long cloth that is stuffed into the incision and it sucks up the nasty stuff, I was told it takes about 6 to ,8 weeks to heal. So a nurse comes to my house 3 times a week and my nurse friend come on the other days, I'm Blessed to have this help.

Tyra22 20 Posted June 23, 2013 Is it weird that I can tolerate way more than 2-3 ounces of fluids at a time? Me too. I felt like an odd ball!

punkin 20 Posted June 23, 2013 I am so glad to have found this forum. My surgery is this coming Thursday and I was so scared and just unsure about everything! It is awesome to hear everyone's real stories and situations and not just some skinny dr dietician or nurse saying everything is gonna be peachy... 1 Weight Warrior reacted to this

NikiMarie 18 Posted June 23, 2013 Perhaps I'm being too hard on myself.. But I find myself stepping on the scale once in the morning and once at night... I'm slightly upset because tonight I'm up two lbs from yesterday.... Is this normal?! I'm following the diet plan from my surgeon, and I'm 3 almost 4 weeks post op... Weight fluctuates throughout the day and from day to day based on what you've had to eat or drink, how much sodium you've had, when you peed and when you pooped...how much exercise you've done and a thousand other things. Pick a day, any day, and make that weigh-in day. I actually weigh twice a week...1 official weigh-in, 1 unofficial weigh-in. I'm not allowed to freak about the unofficial weight unless its up more than 3 pounds....so far that's never happened. I discovered that if I weighed once I week, about midway through I'd obsess about cheating and taking a peek at the scales so I introduced the unofficial day... Try to relax, and yes a2 pound fluctuation is normal, it'll be gone n a day or two. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight

( also a smile a mile wide) Please dont get upset with your daily progress if your working the program you doing what right for you Best of luck. please keep posting your progress. YoColeFleet 246 Posted June 23, 2013 Mine dtook a little over a week to seal up after the drain was pulled.... but i'm not diabetic. ... it can be pretty gross and oozy for a while so I just kept it covered and changed the gauze a couple times a day That sounds easy, I'm not a diabetic either, but my drainage spot is about an inch deep, and the gauze go just as deep.
