72? That would be heavenly! We might hit close to 40 today. :-p. After all the bitter cold days we've had 40 will be a treat! I sure hope February is better than January, but it's usually not! Oh well, February is a short month...

72! 40! Today we might hit 20, and we are excited!! Tomorrow we will be back to negative temps. I am in Minnesota.

Today is my birthday and the scale finally moved for me! I cheated quite a bit yesterday, and I am planning that I will be off today and tomorrow, so I am prepared for the scale to pop back up. But at least I know that once I am back on track on Monday, that scale WILL drop again! Best BIRTHDAY I have had in a very long time!

Happy Birthday!

I am an outdoor girl too. Usually in florida this time of year is pleasant. This year the weather has been terrible! I can't wait for spring. Although it is supposed to be 72 on Saturday. I guess I can't complain too much. ;)

It was 31 today tho. They even closed schools. Don't laugh, we cant deal with it and it was icy rain all day. Yes, we aren't a hardy bunch. Lol

Hello to all of my June Mates,

Had my six month assessment yesterday by the emanate Dr, Ing.

The Doc is very happy with my progress and here is the breakdown

  • 179 lost to date
  • need Vitamin A added to my diet
  • I am officially physically conditioned ( heart rate resting and excising are within normal healthy zone)
  • was asked to be a mentor for new patients coming into the program for 2014 since I embody all of the positive aspects of the Bryn Mawr program ( I accepted and am very psyched to hopefully help someone get were I am )
  • Dr. Ing seems to think the sleep apnea may be cured will have sleep study. This will confirm what i already know.

Well here In Media PA , It was 40 degrees by 3pm went for a hike in the snow covered woods and had an excellent very physical walk. we are forecast for 3-5 inches on Monday and back into the single and negative digits for the next couple of weeks.

I may have started to breakthrough the stall just changing up food and exercise . will try to get a long bike ride in tomorrow before the weather change.

Peace out

RJ

You've got this!! You have come SO far, keep up the fight, you will get there!! Make sure to plan something special to Celebrate when that pound comes off. A mani/pedi, a new outfit, something you wouldn't normally do for yourself. We deserve a reward for all of our hard work!

How much are you eating 1 or 2 eggs.<br> tuna, chicken, shrimp salad how much and how much exercise?

I eat egg makers about 1/3 of a cup most of the time but once in awhile i will have two large eggs, as far as salad goes for me its grilled chicken, I get down the chicken first then i hit the rest trying to mix it up, but I have never finished the whole salad

Oh and exercise I walk about a hour speed walk. But I have got a lot faster walking 3 miles under 51 minutes and i lift weights and do 50lbs arm curls in each hand at the same-time ( which i don't put on MyfitnessPal, but walking and bike riding)

I use Egg Beaters, and I normally make 1/2 cup which is the same as two eggs. As for the rest it depends on how much Protein I need at the end of the day. Last night I had 2.8 ounces of salmon. Saturday I had five ounces of steak. I always keep my protein under 90 and really aim for between 80 and 85. I normally have a small salad with dinner. One cup of lettuce with four Texas Toast croutons and one Tablespoon of light Salad Dressing.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
