I absolutely love your post! I also think you are absolutely right!! I hear the compliments, but I don't seem to really be feeling them. It doesn't help that even my small clothes now are getting baggy. A very good problem, but I feel frumpy. The scale is moving, I have not had more than maybe a three day stall. I have yet to dump or vomit, and so far no Hair loss. I keep waiting for the bad stuff to happen, and it just isn't. I should be grateful, but instead it worries me. Go figure!![/quote']

This is a strange journey, so glad I've ft it y'all!

What Calcium supplements is everyone taking. My nut said to take a chewable calcium citrate but I am having a really hard time with the large chalk like pills/wafers. Anyone find a chewable that isn't so bad. She said gummies are out. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> HW 343 SW 326 CW 249 GW 177 (94lbs gone) woohoo

Bariatric Advantage caramel calcium chews with Vitamin D. They're kind of pricy (about $30 for 90) but totally worth not having to chew those chalky things.

I used the same brand in chocolate until I hit 3 months. They taste like tootsie rolls! They are spendy and you need to take four a day, but they were my treat everyday! Bariatric Advantage does offer samples. You might want to contact them and see if you can get a sample pack.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
