Had a bad day today. Drove 6 hours for nothing but bad moods. I wasted my only Saturday off in 5 weeks. I just want to curl up in a cheesecake.

=(

How about a cheese stick? It's kinda close. . .

Hope you all don't mind but the July group is so quiet I am Jong your June group :-).

Right now I feel like c**p.

Stayed out a bit longer than anticipated and had no Snacks with me. So when the family grabbed take out from the grocery store before we shopped I thought the yogurt parfait looked like it would work for me. Yogurt' date=' granola, fruit. ... what can go wrong? Well half way thru got nauseous and crampy. So stopped eating. Went online and checked nutrition and it had 300 calories must have tons of sugar. Paying for it now:(. Lesson learned... always carry emergency Quest bars.[/quote']

WELCOME!! I'm glad your here!! We are all on this journey - it is full of pot holes and lessons. I hope you are feeling much better.

I know this might not be the popular choice, but go for a walk, get some exercise. It will help you work off some of the bad mood and make you feel better about yourself. You will burn some calories instead of add them! I hope tomorrow is a better day!

((Hugs)) sorry for the bad day. Maybe go get the stuff to make a cheesecake Protein Shake. Laughing cow cinnamon, frozen strawberries, vanilla powder, milk, and a crushed up graham cracker! :) not exactly the same, but a yummy alternative!

Did you just make that up off the top of your head? You're awesome!

Well I didn't go cheesecake crazy but I did over eat last night. I was so uncomfortable that I made myself throw up. Today I'm doing liquids and soft foods to give my stomach a break. But good news is I lost a pound and a half. 180.0. Woot woot!! 10 more pounds and I've officially lost 100 lbs since April.

We'll be there soon. I can't believe that I only have 35-40 lbs to lose before I hit my goal. Hard to wrap my head around it.

Hey all you juners. i have a question. how are you dealing with your body image?

I am in no way shape or form vain. but i have good days and bad days. what i mean is i may fit into some new cloths or have another little victory and ride the crest of that high for a few days.then fat bash crash my ego and im the fat guy all over again.

I know im good on the nutrition and exercise. but it seems my curremt dilema is getting past the fat guy image that has been with me for so long. i know ican conquer this and i fully expected this to happen just looking for any tips or thoughts on this matter.

Thanks

RJ

I am with you on the "fat girl" thing. I, too, have my good days and bad days with my self image. I am working on realizing my new identity as a healthier person.

We will all just have to work on it together. :)

I hear you...still thinking I'm fat....people are calling me "skinnny" ,which I'm NOT yet, but neither am I obese....that, coupled with the hanging skin, makes for a really skewed body image. I talk a lot about it with my therapist.

Hi RJ,

I too am having problems. In all honesty, I still am the fat girl. I still have 70 pounds until I reach a goal. Even then my BMI will put me in the overweight category. The skin issue, especially with my arms, is very hard to see. I keep trying to Celebrate the victories that I do achieve and keep my focus there. When I am feeling especially fat, I hit the YMCA, because there is nothing like a good workout to make you feel better about yourself! Keep on keeping on!!!

Carol

Im shooting for 120 but will be thrilled for anything lower than 150. I am only 5'2". The weird part is ny shirts are a large or even a medium but my pants are 16. I have a big stomach still. Id love to be a 10 on the bottom...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
