Tmi warning...

So I had my period last week and lost 5lbs. This week' date=' no period and didn't lose a thing. Anyone else have this happen?[/quote']

Oh my cycle has been a fussy unpredictable b#%~! since surgery. I got it the day I came home from the hospital, a month later it lasted like 10 days, and now two weeks after that! I haven't noticed it affecting my weight loss at all, I have been steadily losing 3-4.5 lbs a week since 3 weeks after surgery.

I looked at your diary and I would suggest increasing how many calories you take in each day. Each time I've had a stall I would increase by about 100 calories for a while and I would start losing again pretty quickly. If your body goes in to starvation mode it will start storing fat instead of losing it.

Hope this helps!!

Same here... I average around 800 cals a day, but tend to lose every time I have my "fun friday" and up my cals to 1200. I didn't lose all week and last night after I ate about 1100 cals, I woke up and has lost 3 lbs. lol it's a balancing act. You need to remain low carb for the majority of the time, but also have to show your body that you aren't trying to starve it. Lol

Try going to ilostwhat.com - really neat site. Put in how much you lost and it spits out something like this.

Whelp, I am 10 1/2 weeks out. Had a kidney stone on the right, then had a stricture and was hospitalized for 4 days for dehydration/ malnutrition, during which they did the EGD and dilation, then got a kidney stone on the left! Hasn't been an easy run for me but I have a F/U with my new surgeon who took care of me in the hospital today. It's my b-day today so hopefully she'll tell me something good!!!

I know that 35-40 pounds in two months time is nothing to sneeze at. But I feel I'm so far behind everyone else. I downloaded this "Get To Goal" app that plots your weight loss next to averages in a graph and it keeps telling me to "Keep Working" because I'm way below the average.

We all had surgery around the same time and I have the same issue. I'm down 35 lbs so far. I have went down in shirt sizes and my measurements as far as inches are super duper awesome. I've lost 8 inches off of my abdomen. My doctor already told me that he assumed I would be a slow but steady looser. My thyroid being my biggest foe. I'm really thrilled though because I couldn't have lost 35 lbs in two months on my own ever. I lost 25 lbs last year and it took me 6 months. And then I gained half of it back before surgery. Plus I've had some issues and I know that you've had some issues that others may not have had. It's all in how you look at the big picture. Would you rather average 2-4 lbs per week for weeks or drop 50 off the bat and then stall forever. I would rather go slow but keep up the weight loss over a longer period of time. Don't let yourself get down. We early June loosers are just taking our time!

Hi All!

As I feel very "one with the Borg" in this group, I would like to tap in to the collective wisdom. :D Has anyone developed extremely dry scalp? I'm using the same Shampoo though have now added Selsin Blue to try and counteract the scalp issue but its taking forever to right itself. Any suggestions??

Thanks!!

Rhyz

Hey guys,

When did you start to feel "normal" again? I'm 2 weeks out and am sluggish. Everything makes me nauseous, taking meds make me puke sometimes and I'm always tired. My left shoulder is always in pain and I can't get comfortable ever. When do I feel like me again?!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
