I am moving to puréed foods tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to transition? What are the best foods to start with or the worst?

Also, if anyone has my fitness pal I would love for you to add me. My username is hek1127.

I'm not aloud egg or cheese until soft food stage which is two more weeks... Kinda stinks because I was hoping for an egg today.

How far are people walking and how often?

I am walking about 30 mins twice a day. I don't judge how far I go, I just try to keep moving that long. Yesterday was the only day I didn't get in an hour. I am one week post op tomorrow.

HELP!!!!! Since I woke up from surgery I have been itching uncontrollably...it hasn't been my incisions so much as all around & my upper thigh...@ first I though it was a reaction to coming off all the meds but it seems to be getting worse & I'm breaking out in these red blotches... The only time it subsides is if I take Benadryl but I can't take this forever!! Has anyone else had this issue? I placed a call in & waiting for a response but I'm one step away from googling & then there is no telling how freaked out I will get!! Please if anyone has any experience with this or advice I would greatly appreciate it!!

Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Could be the pain meds..ask what they are giving you..

I've been walking three times a week I know I need to do more but this is all I can do right now three weeks until surgery.

You all are doing well with the walking, in 3 weeks out, I don't walk much, however, I am constantly found up and down stairs, that's my exercise.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
