Fairyluver75 12 Posted June 12, 2013 Hi! I'm only 3 weeks out but wanted to know if anyone here has been able to eat sushi or sashimi again and when you were able to?? I miss it and look forward to being able to eat it again! Thank you!
deaddemmama 474 Posted June 12, 2013 I'm cleared for wishing after six weeks...check with your nut. All plans and docs are different.
deaddemmama 474 Posted June 12, 2013 *sushi *...my nut warned me off rolls if they have rice, though. I'm going to stick to sashimi.

BBdoodle 483 Posted June 12, 2013 I love sushi but the rice I have a problem with, it does not go down right.
Lou:) 110 Posted June 12, 2013 I'm 8 weeks out and have had no problem with sushi, but I get the rolls that have soy paper instead of seaweed because the seaweed is so chewy.
slowtogo 301 Posted June 12, 2013 I still can only do a piece or two of rolls but can do some serious sashimi.
Fairyluver75 12 Posted June 12, 2013 Sashimi is my favorite so I cannot wait! I do hear that the rice is the hardest to digest so I will probably skip that for a long time and just have the sashimi. Thank you ladies! Lou I will definitely try that soy paper when I can, I've never had it but you are right about the seaweed paper being tough!
Fairyluver75 12 Posted June 12, 2013 Sparklette we'll get to have some soon!!!
DoubleD 9 Posted July 26, 2013 I crave sushi all the time and I have no problem with the rice. But I have to pull back because it gets good to me. Now, I'm not a sushi scholar but what is sashimi?
Fairyluver75 12 Posted July 27, 2013 I crave sushi all the time and I have no problem with the rice. But I have to pull back because it gets good to me. Now' date=' I'm not a sushi scholar but what is sashimi?[/quote'] Sashimi is the raw fish, usually no rice with it. Fresh pieces of salmon, yellowtail, tuna, etc. it's my favorite. I'm 2 months out and my dr says I can try it now but I'm going I wait until 3 months
deaddemmama 474 Posted July 27, 2013 I have no problems with sashimi, especially octopus. Not a fish fan, but love sashimi....pure Protein.< /p>

Kyle314 18 Posted August 12, 2013 I had sushi a little over 3 months out. I was never a sushi fan before surgery but now I can't get enough of it. 2 Sparklette and Fairyluver75 reacted to this
