mcdoja 33 Posted June 11, 2013 Is there a medical reason for this or just the point of getting used to it? Black coffee sounds good right now, which would also alleviate my headache

ElleG 394 Posted June 11, 2013 I was lucky I never drank coffee and didn't drink soda often so it was easy to give up, but sometimes I feel like I don't have anything to drink so I'm now into the drink enhancers and there are tons of flavors
ajustice 484 Posted June 11, 2013 I think it's a prep to change your mindset to make it a easier transition post op. caffeine can dehydrate u and also can irritate your tummy possibly causing ulcers. The main risk is caffeine is counterintuitive with getting your fluids in to keep you hydrated. Cutting back pre op helps the withdrawal and all the fun headaches and crankiness. warn those around u lol
nienie 113 Posted June 11, 2013 Pre-op they just want you to start to prepare for your new eating and drinking styles post-op. I cut done on my pop and caffeine drinking but drank right up until surgery and haven't had any issues not having it after surgery and I am 21 weeks out...
