Recommended Posts

Hello all ...I am 2 months post op and I'm force feeding myself. Have you had this happen to you? I felt full even though I had not eaten anything. Any advice would be very helpful...Thanks

I have the same feeling, I forget to eat most of the time, I've taken to setting timers every 4 hours, telling myself to nibble on something.

I feel full ALL THE TIME! I don't have cravings anymore, so I forget. Last week I had realized that I hadn't eaten anything for almost 48 hours. And It was a little scary, I got dizzy and weak, and very very irritable. I didn't realize that it was from hunger.

Set timers, and make yourself eat. We need the calories. :)

Best of luck.

I'm only 5 days post op but I have the same problem. I feel constantly full, like I just had Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not craving anything and just trying hard to get as much Fluid in as possible.

I am 12 weeks post op and never hungry .. I can't seem to get the 60 oz of Protein and only drink about 24 oz of Water and 16 oz of orange juice. I lost 20 lbs in the first 3 weeks so your loss is within the range...it is all dependent on the body and how well it adjusts

Not wanting to eat is the WEIRDEST feeling!!! Enjoying while it lasts because for most of us it does go away and you do get hungry again. Cool thing is,even if I think I'm ravenously hungry, 5-6 bites and I'm satisfied and could stop. Pretty awesome!!!

Hey sparklers.... How are you doing on this journey. I'm down 43 lbs but seem to be stuck right now. I think it's because I don't eat. Good to see you on here

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
