Its definatly been a long sometimes hard road,I think my doc did an awesome job b/c its been fairly easy for me to stay at that weight.the only thing i made sure was to never stretch my pouch and i was lucky that sugar made me very sick for a long time and still does to some extent

Welcome! I'm a newbie and your post made me excited! Glad to have a testament to longer term success when that's a huge selling point of why I got rny...wanted to still be healthy and maintain years later. Anyways..welcome

Thank you so much for sharing! The one thing I have not been able to find is people who've had the surgery more than five years ago. I had mine one week ago. I hope I do as well as you as I go on. I always wondered about the long-term success and possible health issues. Have you ever had any surgery related health issues over time?

Congrates im so happy for you

Ive been doing very good with no side effects beside low iorn n a few blood transfusions. But thats my own fault because i dont take my Vitamins .... I also had four kids with no complication. Its funny cause my eyes are still bigger than my belly lol .... And even though i cant eat the whole plate it still makes me feel better .... I look forward to see positive updates about you ...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
