one day at a time 30 Posted June 2, 2013 I am having huge issues with still feeling "large". I understand I have lost weight but its like I can not accept being smaller. I feel big. I know they say this is the mental aspect, but I'm wondering how long it takes before being smaller finally sinks in? I feel flabby. Thoughts or insight? heather200202 73 Posted June 2, 2013 I've lost 100 pounds and am 6 months out and I still see the old me in the mirror. I've had my husband and my family show me before and now pics and that's the only way I believe this. I see the scale numbers and sometimes think its a POS and telling me the wrong weight. I'm getting better but I've been told it can take some people awhile to adjust to all the changes. My best advice is to take a lot of pics and compare them to your before surgery ones. That's the only way I've found to help me. Plus I'm starting to like having pics taken of me. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW:
wonderwoman75 118 Posted June 2, 2013 It's called body dysmorphia. I feel the same way. I still suck it in when going through a doorway with someone else. The bathroom where I work there is a wide mirror and every time I see myself I am amazed its me! I've lost 90 lbs since 1/29/13. I'm waitin for my mind to catch up. jenneliza 257 Posted June 3, 2013 At 11 months out and down to a size 8/10 I still feel like at least an 18/20. Hopefully after reaching goal and staying there for awhile it will catch up. It's very common and I think different for everyone. I can tell you that exercise does help make you more conscious of your new size
