I have a little notebook that I am writing everything in. It has helped tremendously. The other thing it is doing is making me realize how far between meals I am. I was finding the first couple of days I was getting nauseated and then realized there was six hours between my "meals". That is too long. So now only 2-3 hours and I have something. Even if it is 4 ounces of skim milk. That has helped the nausea too.

Dear IAMWORTHIT,

Started a similar journal in the hospital since i didnt have my Android. I did a little reqasearch today and came across an app both for the PC and smart phone that came highly recommended by my nut.

myfitnesspal.com

loaded it on the pc and the smart phone , it syncs ever time you complete and entry.

very complete record of the daily intake of everthing we need to know as RYNers

check it out Im ditching my journal in favor of this, it gives reports progress , and best of all daily stats on all of

your nutritional levels , protien, carbs, sugars, sodium potassium .. etc etc ..

Im hooked .. suggest you give it a glance ... oh did I mention it FREE!!

Cheers

RJ

Hi RJ -

I have used myfitnesspal for years and love it. I found it before getting banded back in 2008 and it has really helped me track everything. I am sure you can tell already, but I am very compulsive and like a lot of structure, so I like having a place to track all of my food and exercise. I have been writing stuff down in my journal throughout the day and then transcribing it into the app at night. Keeping track of the tiniest amounts of food has been tough otherwise. :)

Another good free app is sparkpeople.com. It almost has too much information though, so I always stuck with myfitnesspal. Check it out.

I hope you are doing wel! I am feeling a bit better today. I live in Florida, so it has been hard to walk as much as I would like. I'm walking a lot in the house and really just going outside in the evenings or early mornings. I did put a hold on walking DVDs from the library. I thought they might help me walk in the house more.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
