So has anyone else had a crazy heavy flow now that you have been post op? I was dealing with PCOS before and just rarely had a period. Sometimes only once or twice a year since I was 16 and I am now 33. When I started losing weight pre-op, I started to have them regular again. It was a shocker, to say the least! Now, I have had 3 since surgery (1 during and 2 since). This one is horrible!! My boobs were killing me 5 days before, the cramps are severe, and the clots.... OMG the clots!! I am going through pads (the mattress sized ones) at 2+ an hour!!! I know losing weight causes your hormones to change a lot, but is this normal? Please tell me this has happened to someone else!

It was awful!!! Pcos had made mine irregular but when it finally came it was a nightmare. Possibly true in what I've heard about estrogen being stored in your fat cells and maybe it makes it go a bit whacko. I couldn't leave the house

Mine was exactly like that too. For me, I can say they've gotten better. The first 4 months I wanted to die when it started. Now the bleeding is normal, clots are way smaller but the cramps and the pain in my breasts are still there just not as bad. Plus I don't want to rip off my husbands head and roll it down the street for no reason too. Lol. I also have PCOS. They said the main reason for the really heavy bleeding and huge clots is its cleaning ya out for not having normal monthly periods.

I am SOOOO glad I am not the only one! I tell ya, my hubby made fried chicken last night for dinner knowing damn well I can't eat it. I wanted to let him feel the wrath, but put on my jogging shoes and jogged a mile, then walked a mile, didn't about 50 squats and took my frustration s out that way. Was too tired to be mad once I was done. LOL! Anger fueled that workout! Hahaha...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
