It wasnt about the pounds so much for me.... dont get me wrong I am a slave to the scale... but when others started to notice... So for me around 60 lbs is when I started getting .. are you losing weight... lol.. I was that fat that it took 60 lbs for others to notice. I took picture of myself once a month and the pics where I thought I was looking so good.. now I look at and laugh and wonder what I was thinking.

I waited until my first follow up appointment, which was a little over 3 weeks & I lost 40lbs. I had a very hard time post optimum keeping food down, after some trial & error it was the Vitamins that were making me sick. Don't worry about the numbers as long as they go down your on the right track. :)

Im with the last poster. The most weight I ever dropped in a single week was 4 lbs. I have never seen the scale just shock my socks off. Slow and steady. It was at 7 months out that people whom I had never told began to think I was someone different.

My major weight loss was the first 2 weeks post op. had my surgery on a Monday. Left Wednesday and came home weighed myself. Exactly the weight I went in with. The following Tuesday I went to the doctor to get staples out and I had lost 23 pounds. I lost another 20 that following week. Spent a little over a month on a stall afterwards now I'm losing about 10-20 pounds a month since.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
