My surgery is next Thursday, May 30. I can't wait to get it done and get my recovery over and done with. I'm looking forward to putting into practice all the things I have learned. I want to feel better by the end of June when my son comes home on leave. He's a marine and just finished his first deployment. I haven't seen him in a year! I want to host a big family cookout so everyone can see him again.

This weekend I will be stocking my pantry for both my needs and my husband's. That will be followed by a cleaning frenzy and complete grass cutting (normally my job because I enjoy it - it takes about 2 1/2 hours). I'll get my bag packed and study my WLS manual. Today I bought new pillow cases for the pillow I'll bring with me to the hospital. I am hoping for an uneventful surgery experience with a speedy recovery but I'm mentally prepared for complications. I have all my notarized legal papers in my folder just in case (though I have no real fear of their necessity - just covering all the bases). I can't think of anything else I'll need to do except take care of me!

Ready... Set... Thursday I go! :-)

None yet. In fact the last few days have been worse. I guess this is normal after the procedure. Am patiently waiting.....

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
