I'm not a big Breakfast person but I know that I need to start eating properly. What do you eat for breakfast to ensure energy throughout the day. I'm not too huge on Protein Shakes or drinks. I've tried muscle milk which wasn't horrible and a fruit punch drink from Walmart, and also ISOPURE....but I'm not sure these are things that I'm not to be able to drink regularly. I haven't had my surgery yet but I figured I might as well get used to life after surgery now....so I'm not in for a shock later.

After surgery your #1 priority is to get your Protein and Water in, you will not want to eat nor will you be hungry :) B Vitamins are a good source for energy also, when I exercise I have tons of energy after a workout. My normal breakfast after surgery when I started on soft foods was cottage cheese, yogurt snack time Protein Shake. I'm a year out and I make a breakfast pie with the majority of it being eggs, I add cheese, and semi cooked veggies = delish. I take a piece every day for breakfast. I change up the ingriedents but the basic is the same = eggs = protein.

Boiled eggs are great for breakfast. They are very convenient. You can make them in advance and store them in the refrigerator. If boiled eggs are too dense, try out egg white omelettes. They are easy to prepare. Another food I eat for breakfast when I am busy is Protein Bars.< /p>

I too cannot eat when I first wake up. Power thru that first shake of the day. Sometimes we just have to suck it up. I am now drinking one cup of coffee in the morning... (I am 15 months out) and to it I add one scoop of chocolate protein... makes it taste good. You have got to get your Protein in... it is the most important key to this whole thing. Dr OZ has even said protein in the morning gets your metabolism going full gear for the day!!!!

My NUT told me not to heat up Protein shakes cause it reduces the protein. Unless its protein Soup cause its made for that. shakes arent designed for heat.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
