According to my surgeon that's soft food stage not purée. Purée shouldn't need to be chewed- runny mashed potatoes, Soups, applesauce, etc... I can't have soft foods which are things that can be mashed with a fork until weeks 3-4 post.

I was told for puréed I should be able to dink it through a straw, no chewing at all.

What ever you want to eat ... put it in a blender or food processor and it will puree it.

I never puréed anything. Just chewed very well.

When you puree in a blender you need to add a liquid or most things will be too dry. Try adding chicken broth to chicken and beef broth to beef. Water, dressings, sauces, Soups or gravy to other foods depending on flavors you want. It usually makes more than you can eat so freeze the extra in ice cube trays, pop out cubes when frozen and store in freezer bags. Then thaw or microwave to eat when you want it. (I used to make my own baby food when the kids were little)

For a frozen treat this summer, try mixing sf pudding or Greek yogurt with added Protein powder, pour small amounts into Dixie cups, cover with plastic wrap or foil, insert popcicle stick through wrap (it holds stick upright), then freeze. To eat dip in hot Water to loosen from cup and... Voila! Enjoy! When your doctor clears you, you can add chopped fruit or whatever. Get creative! You can also just freeze sugar free drinks like crystal light to make the popcicles.

Just wanted to point out that you can buy the frozen treats at the store but making you're own is so much cheaper and you can make them in a size that you can eat so there is no waste, and adding Protein Powder boosts your Protein intake.
