MrsLulu 69 Posted May 20, 2013 The changes in personal relationships, such as having a spouse that does not make life changes with you and how to psychologically overcome that negativity. Also that is important would be how to handle public situations and questions from people if you kept your surgery private. 1 Alex Brecher reacted to this
terry1118 1,274 Posted May 20, 2013 I've released The BIG Book on the Gastric Sleeve and The BIG Book on the Lap-Band and releasing The BIG Book on the Gastric Bypass in a few weeks (a trilogy!) I'm working on a fourth book targeted towards individuals that are post weight loss surgery. Some of the topics I'm planning to include: [*]patient stories [*]patient tips [*]recipes [*]meal plans [*]specific food tips [*]famous people with WLS Please let me know if there are other topics you think might interest individuals that are post weight loss surgery. I never tire of the stories, they keep me motivated. The negative stories are just as important as the positive ones. I think it's important to hear from people who have had complications and how they were dealt with, as it could happen to any one of us. Bad experiences brought on by poor choices are just as educational, too. All these things can help a person decide if weight loss surgery is right for them, and if it is, they know what to expect when things don't go as expected. In all my research I had the hardest time finding veteran stories from people five or more years out. I wanted to know if they had continued success, health issues, unforseen problems, how they handled the life-style changes long-term, etc. Whether on not they'd do it again. Please include some of these stories in your book. For my part, I would like to see a book made up ENTIRELY of personal stories, good and bad, inspiring and informative. Reading about other peoples experiences helped me to make an informative decision. 2 TxDumplin and Alex Brecher reacted to this
