I am almost 3 months post op. seems in the last week or so I've been eating larger quantities of food. Like close to 1-1 1/2 cups. I want my pouch small. How do I know if I've permanently stretched it out? Can it be shrunk back? Thanks.

I'm worried also that i may of stretched mine out too...Seems i can eat more than everyone else. I'm scared the RNY surgery will not work for me. Also, i've never dumped or throwed up. Shouldn't i at least throw up if I eat too much???...Confused :/

I'm 11 months post up and I throw up if I over eat which hardly happens but when your used to being fat you sometimes forget and have an extra bite & out it goes. I'm able to eat more food then when I 1st got WLS but I also tend to stop my self if I feel I can over eat. I limite the amount of food & say I'm only eating this amount & snack in about 2 hrs later.

My doc assured me there is nothing that can stretch out your pouch. He said over time we find foods that we are able to eat in larger quantities. For example chicken is always heavy for me, but shrimp feels lighter. I tend to feel like I eat more when I eat shrimp. Make sense? Hope that helps!

Yes! Music! That does. I also find I can eat more of some foods. Mamio I don't have much of that problem that's what concerns me! I don't want to go back to eating huge portions. Appreciate the help. Love to hear if anyone else has experience in this?

I would think then that you are not eating that much food. I ALWAYS feel when I eat too much. It feels like thanksgiving dinner fullness. I don't throw up if I eat too much, it just hurts. I don't dump on carbs or sugar either.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
