Hi all I have had, so embarrassing...a leaking bowel since day two after my op. I am now day five.. I go to sleep and I wake up and it has just leaked out of me...I don't feel like it was after I have passed wind or anything.. I have been very careful with anything that goes in my mouth. I am only taking in 10 grams of protien powder at meal. Not eating any sugar or fat..mostly just pain meds, Water, a few ounces of black Decaf tea with a tiny bit of skim milk. chewable vitamins. Ect... Please don't tell me this is normal...running out of pads and self esteem..any clues guys....please......also I have an off and on temp since day two of surgery...makes me shake n chiver

Wow damn girl... Idk what to say. You haven't mention anything strange. I think you should buy adult diapers incase accidents at night but I would call the surgeon about this. I have t heard if this. I got the vomiting for a month it stoped then at 3 months vomiting 1 week till they found out my stomach closed up & I wasn't. Able to keep food down at all. Call the surgeon ASAP liquid poop is dehydration

Call surgeon...primarily because you have a fever. I had back surgery, was on antiobiotics beforehand.and they didn't think it was possible...it is, it got MUCH worse, make that call!! Infections can be picked up many ways and are unfortunately normal, but you need to treat them...

Are you taking Fiber? My nut has me on the Benefiber equivalent twice a day. Fiber supplements actually help get rid of diarrhea but definitely call that Dr!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
