No physician should ever yell or put down their patient. They are not you, they don't walk in your body, and we are all different. He should be there to help you. So he should be there to guide you possibly in a different direction to help you to get those remaining pounds off. I would explain what I have been doing to lose, which is not working, so what am I doing wrong or what can I do different to make those pounds to come off. Yelling at you is not the answer that is for sure, it doesn't take any pounds off. It just makes you feel like a failure. (I switched physicians because of that attitude). I tell my doctors that we are not any different, if I wanted to have spent the money I would have been a doctor. He/she also puts her pants on the same way I do, one leg at a time. But that is just me.

Yes! I can help :). I was stuck at that point for 2 months. It took 3 days going back to mostly liquids - Protein shakes, Soup etc and exercising 2x day for about 1 week. You body needs a jump start. :). If that doesn't work you also try to eliminate all carbs and sugar for a week which will also jump start your weight loss.

Well doc didn't yell at me... He was pleased that I didn't gain and suggested I go back to shakes and build up to solids again and try different forms of work outs. He thinks that my body is just comfortable at this weight and if I want to start losing again I need to change up my routine. For example instead of just walking I should try jogging or at least carry a heavy backpack when I go for my walks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
