Ok so I am 4 weeks post op and I feel like I'm eating and drinking ALL THE TIME! I try so hard to get my Protein in with drinks and shakes and food and then on top of that the Snacks and Water. So this comes to this question. What does your daily eating schedule look like! And pointers would be great cause again I feel like all I do is eat (small portions) and drink and scared its stretching my pouch!

I eat 3x a day...was told not to snack. Breakfast: dannon light & fit greek yogurt.

Lunch: 2 oz turkey lunchmeat & 1 oz cheeze

Dinner: 2 oz tilapia/2 small pcs broccoli.

I still need 1 Protein shake (30g) per day to supplement so I drink that at some point between meals.

Take Calcium

Breakfast: Dannon 2x Protein yogurt

Take Multi vit, D3, Iron, B12

Morning Snack: Protein shake/milk

Lunch: 6 shrimps

Take Calcium

Exercise: 60 min walk

Drink (2) 16.9 oz Water bottles

Need to have water completes before walk is over.

Afternoon Snack: Protein shake&milk

Take: Multi vit, Iron

Dinner: 1 cup of Edemamas

Night Snack: string cheese.

Take Calcium

Bedtime: Drink 16.9 oz water bottle

Approx: 70 oz of water

Approx: 80-100 g protein

The more you drink the more water you can take in in less time. In my shakes I do half milk and water and that counts toward my water count too.

My surgeon instructions are to eat 3 meals a day NO snacking in between but make your meal enough so it will hold you to your next meal without snacking. Sometimes snacking can get out of hand so I try not to snack at all and just eat at meal time.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
