I'm having trouble figuring out when to take my Vitamins because you can't take certain ones together. What are some of the schedules that seem to work for you guys?

Surgery Date: May 2, 2013 - Amount Lost: 26lbs

My doctor has me take two Multi Vitamins (Flintstones with iron) in the morning with a b complex liquid . Then two chewy calrates in the afternoon. I do a B12 shot once a month. He has me take the same ones at the same time just does not want me to mix them.

I only take ONE A DAY gummies twice a day and the calcium citrate twice a day also, I take them when I wake up and before going to bed. The rest are shots once a month (iron and B12), oh and Zinc once a week but my pouch HATES it... it has been the only bump on my road.

I'm glad I only have one, it's the size of a quarter and very thick. I have to chew it. It makes me want to puke, but I'm glad it's just one LOL

It's actually not bad at all to follow the schedule I'm on during the week. The weekends get me all out of whack because its off my daily routine lol

I'm the same way. I have a app on my phone called RxmindMe. I have a iPhone so may be different on other phones. But I love it and its set to go off when it's time to take my meds. It's been a HUGE help reminding me.

I have alarms set to go off on my iPhone every 3 hours on the weekends to remind me. The problem is myself. It'll go off and if I'm busy I'll tell myself I'll take it as soon as I'm done...then I forget. My mind does not work well with technology lol

It's easy once you get yourself on a set routine :)

Try these. One a day bariatric chewable. Very small. 10.00 a bottle 30 day supply.

So I looked at this Vitamin, and it looks like it has everything I am supposed to take; B12, Iron, D3, and Calcium. So if I took one of these a day, it replaces all of the other pills I am taking?? Am I getting enough of everything then??

Iron and calcium need to be taken at least 2 hours apart. Calcium blocks the absorption of iron. This is why my nutritionist has me separating my Multivitamins and calciums by 3 hours. If you take this you'll still have to add in an iron supplement.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
