Bevy Boo 6 Posted June 12, 2013 I'm glad I'm not the only one who can eat anything and have no problem! Was beginning to feel a freak! I had my surgery 28th May. All went well with no issues and was allowed home 3 days later. I feel as though I could eat Soup and yogurt until the cows come home! Have spoken to the bariatric nurse who oversees me, as in the uk. She said it takes a while for your body to catch up with what you have had done and sloppy foods will go down easier. She suggested that I try a slice of toast if I am really worried and see what I feel like, just make sure I chew it well. Well, so glad I did. Was not even able to eat a whole slice of toast before I felt full up and unable to eat another bite. So that has put my mind at rest and now I know they actually did something to me when I was out, as was beginning to wonder! Lol. My weight loss has also been slow so that hasn't been helping my mood, but it seems to be moving now. The being full will come, we just need to be patient. However, I've never been a patient patient so that is hard for me! Xx
The long walk home 2 Posted June 12, 2013 3 weeks out and feel like I can eat anything. I am being rel careful about weighing things because I feel like I could keep eating. The only time I feel restricted is with liquids. When will the foods kick in? Hi there. There is a certain amount of nerves cut during the op and they take a while to kick in... I am a couple weeks ahead of you and started eating more solid food...it only now that I can really feel the restriction.. Look out for signs that you are full such as sighing, belching, hiccups, sneezing or a runny nose...these are all indicators that you need to stop eating. Hope that helps...don't stress... renjames 30 Posted June 12, 2013 Hi my name is James, I had my operation on 28 May 2013. So far have lost 14lbs or around 6 kg in Australian terms. I'm feeling great had some problems with whining about restrictions about an hour after two weeks I'm starting to eat soft foods in Sample scrambled egg and finally feeling restriction. Anyone else had this problem where they didn't feel restriction on the mushy pureed foods and how are you going?

Yesterday I had chicken marsala, green Beans and mashed potatoes. About 4 bites of chicken, 2 bites of Beans and one bite of potatoes, but eating real food for a week. My doctor said try anything I want but make sure to chew, chew, chew.

Kurstin 72 Posted June 12, 2013 So, I really haven't been on much since my surgery. I've been the lucky one to have a bunch of complications. I did great the first couple of weeks. But, now I am just ready to feel normal again. I had my first stricture dilation on the 29th as I ended up in the ER because I was extremely dehydrated from not keeping fluids or anything for that matter down. I have to have another because I'm not keeping things down again. Surgery Date: May 2, 2013 - Amount Lost: 47lbs
made4me 0 Posted June 13, 2013 Any advice? I had surgery on May 13th. The first few weeks were great besides my nausea. I'm down 31 lbs total. But yesterday I vomited and its been all down hill from there. I've been super nauseous and every time I try to eat my pouch hurts, gets a burning sensation and I feel like vomiting again. Has this happened to anyone??

And remember to chew. Sometimes I forget and then I am reminded! Definitely don't eat while doing anything else so you can concentrate! Only 1 more day for you! tracik 62 Posted June 13, 2013 I went to my PCP today for my annual physical. First time I had seen her since my surgery (just 2 weeks ago). The nurse didnt realize I had had GB and said "Ummm, you have lost 9 pounds in 6 days, is everything ok?" I just smiled and said, "I know, isn't it great!" I then told her about the surgery, I am down 33# in two weeks! Today started out bad, tried to drink a Protein Shake on way to doctor, but it was not going to happen. I tried some mashed potatoes for lunch, but immediately felt ill, laid down and fell asleep for 4 hours! I was ale to have some Beans for dinner and walked 2 miles, but I am beat today. 1 alawrence reacted to this

Mashed potatoes don't sit well for me and it sounds like your pouch doesn't care for them either. I was so tired today- it's great that my boss is letting me work whatever I can this week. I came home today, took a hot shower, laid down to rest and wound up napping for a couple hours. Just hoping the nap doesn't interfere with me sleeping tonight. leowife92 0 Posted June 14, 2013 No weight loss for a few days' date=' am back to what I was prior to surgery, so think I've only got rid of all the fluids I had pumped into me. What I am really worried about though is not feeling full up? I'm sure I could eat a proper size portion if it was placed in front of me. I haven't tried though and am sticking to the soft foods in small portions. Still got some pain to my right side, which just feels like a stitch at times and bruised. No pain on my left side at all. I am gurgling well though, after fluids and food just concerned about appetite. Has anyone else felt like they haven't had anything done? My surgery was 28th May. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as am getting worried and scared that this wont help me loose weight either! Thanks Bx[/quote'] I feel the same way! My surgery was May 28th also. How many times are you eating a day? I'm on purée now and I think I'm eating too much. I finally quit weighing because I was getting so upset.
