My surgery was may 17 and I've lost 12 lbs. I think I might be on the dreaded week 3 stall!! I have been the same for 3 days now. I did stall out during pre op then I would loose loose then stall. I guess this will be my loosing pattern. Darn!!

You might contact your doc office and see if they can check on that. I've not had any issues like that since surgery.

I had the same stall. I took a look at my caloric intake. It had increased because I was adding new food. I notched it back just a bit and increased my exercise a little, and that got me going again. Keep in mind though, your body adjusts to each phase, so plateaus are normal.

No weight loss for a few days, am back to what I was prior to surgery, so think I've only got rid of all the fluids I had pumped into me. What I am really worried about though is not feeling full up? I'm sure I could eat a proper size portion if it was placed in front of me. I haven't tried though and am sticking to the soft foods in small portions.

Still got some pain to my right side, which just feels like a stitch at times and bruised. No pain on my left side at all. I am gurgling well though, after fluids and food just concerned about appetite. Has anyone else felt like they haven't had anything done? My surgery was 28th May. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as am getting worried and scared that this wont help me loose weight either! Thanks Bx

I met with my surgeon today for one week follow up. He is happy with progress. Down 9 pounds since lowest prior to surgery last week. I had advanced to pureed foods earlier this week as I couldn't do shakes anymore. He was fine with that and told me to start soft foods this weekend. Yea! He told me the numbness in my right thigh happens 4 or 5 times a year (lucky me, I guess). It is how they position you on the table and how they strap you down. He told me I can step up exercise as long as it doesn't hurt and released me to drive. On my way!

I was also reading a menu they had on the desk for the final phase, and it included whole wheat bread, which surprised me. But then I remember the nut telling me about eating those thin bagel things and she said that would be fine for lunch. I see so many people that don't eat breads and I wonder if that is by choice or if each doctor is really that different. They want me to start with chicken and fish next week, so I am starting to look for recipes!

I can have toast or crackers, no fresh bread.I eat pretzel thins with my hummus. There's lots of recipes floating around the site. I cook a lot of seared scallops and tilapia with lemon thyme. I'm not great at measuring things but let me know and I'll forward recipes.

New to site. Surgery was May 31st. All went well. I think the tube was my worst pain. Released to go home on Monday. By Tuesday I started having bad upper back pains and thought it was gas pain. Ended up in the ER with a blood clot in my lung...obviously back in the hospital now. I did everything right...took my blood thinners...walked all the time. I never had any doubts about this surgery until now. Feeling really low. Anyone else know of someone with similar issues with clots?

Ya I did this before surgery too so I was kind of hoping it would not do it the same way. I have been watching my calories and my Protein. Yesterday I didn't get enough in but today I'm eating lower calorie foods and more protein and I got back on the elliptical this evening! So maybe that will do the trick!

I had to ask my support group how much to eat. I was eating half cup of everything because I could not tell if I was full or not. They said to try to eat more dense foods not the ones that slide thru and only 1-2 oz. I tried it and I started telling the difference. They also said to only eat for about 20 min cuz you can eat a lot more and might have problems. One night I did eat too much and yes I did feel that!! I felt like I ate a thanksgiving dinner off of 1 1/2 oz of Salisbury steak. It was bad I hurt from 6:30 to 10:00 pm.

Welcome and congrats on making it to the other side. Sorry that things have not been as smoothly. However I know that having blood clots are common therefore its something that can be cared for easily. Hopefully things will get brighter here soon. Take it easy and keep us updated when you can. Again welcome!

I'm 1 week post op and I am doing so much better. Taking Vitamins ok, eating 3 meals a day, getting out and walking as much as I can. I weighed myself yesterday and I'm down 20 lbs. Hope I continue to bring it!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
