Kurstin 72 Posted July 3, 2013 Just checking in to see how all my May peeps are doing?? Where has everyone been? Well' date=' I'm doing great! As of today, I'm down 42 lbs! Yaaay. . Let us all know how your all doing! WLS: 5/14/13- HW: 273 SW: 258 CW: 232 GW: 135[/quote'] I'll be having my 3rd stricture EGD dilation on July 11th. Ugh. My weight loss stalled out for 2 weeks because I hadn't eaten in a long time due to not being able to with the stricture. I was able to eat for the last week and dropped another 8lbs. But, starting yesterday all my food is coming back up again. The last dilation they did started to bleed so they had to quit. So, they assumed I would need another. This will be the 4th time in 2 month going under anesthesia. I hate it! Still glad I did this though. My BMI is down 10 points. I have a week to go- going to call tomorrow to see if they will go ahead and schedule me already. I haven't been able to eat in 2 weeks as it is. All liquids for me.... Sucks a big one. At this point I'm allowed regular foods on my plan... But no! Stupid strictures. I hope yours goes well and this one will be your last! theresainmpls 5 Posted July 8, 2013 Renamed a group for our post op patients! Hold onto the losers bench. I will be here on May 14 to join you! Hope your all doing well on your new journey. Surgery date: May 14' date=' 2013[/quote'] I had my surgery on May 30, 2013 and so far I have lost 29 lbs (today's date is July 8, 2013.) I still feel a little weak after returning back to work. The longer the day goes on, the energy level seems to decrease for me. i have been taking my Vitamins and I have been drinking my fluids and eating small portions of meat and drinking my Protein Drinks and I have been trying to workout and walk on the treadmill but I am not able to handle the same workout level as I had done before I went in for surgery. I hope I get my energy back! I've been working 2 hours overtime every night after returning back to work

My nutritionist said vitamins, protein and Water. Like you, I am doing what they tell me, but I am still lower energy. I am going in for some blood tests to make sure all my levels are okay. I suspect that I am anemic and need more Iron, since I have had problems with that in the past. If your energy continues to be low, you might want to bring it up to your doc. Yay for the 29 lbs! That has got to feel good.

renjames 30 Posted July 9, 2013 Hi I had my op on may 28th. Weight loss has been slower than I was hoping but Dow as of yesterday 27 lbs so in the right direction at least. Having about 800 calories a day. I'm a male so is that too low or too much?

Having about 800 calories a day. I'm a male so is that too low or too much? My dietician told me to try and get 1000 calories a day (I am female). That is supposed to keep you out of starvation mode. I am struggling to get 800-900 a day at 7 weeks out. I do notice that I drop faster the closer I get to 1000.
Jacqueline K 93 Posted July 9, 2013 My dietician told me to try and get 1000 calories a day (I am female). That is supposed to keep you out of starvation mode. I am struggling to get 800-900 a day at 7 weeks out. I do notice that I drop faster the closer I get to 1000. Since I've been dealing with a stricture I haven't been able to get close to 1000 (my doctor told me to stay around that too) and I have also noticed that on days I get more calories I lose more. I would up your calories from 800 to 1000-1200 (since you're male) and see if that helps speed up the weight loss.
renjames 30 Posted July 9, 2013 Thanks all for the advise. I will change to 1000 and see how it goes. Thanks again
tracik 62 Posted July 10, 2013 Hi everyone. Just got back from a last minute vacation - lost 4 pounds in 6 days. Not too bad I guess. I am very inpatient when it comes to results! I am dow 46 pounds since I started this on May 2. My surgery was May 28, down 36 pounds since then. Seems slow to come off. I know my problem is not eating enough - but I can't eat more than I am. For those May surgeries out there - what are you guys eating now and how much? I can do about 3TB for each meal, and I eat 3x a day (but I force myself to do that as I am not hungry). I do get about 60-70 oz of fluids in - but Protein is only about 25-30 g. I honestly have to choke the protein down as I am not finding anything I want to eat right now. I have had a greek yogurt sitting in front of me for an hour now - and have only eaten 3 bites. I can eat carbs though... which scares me. How much are you guys eating at this point? Is it a chore to eat as much as you are? I also walk 2 miles a day.

Ugh, it gets frustrating. I have about 3/4 of yogart for Breakfast, I try to get in lunch, but its hard. I get in about 1/2 cup and ugh, it doesn't sit well in the pouch. :/ I can only do about 1 oz - 1.5 oz of steak for dinner.A few Bitess and ugh, sometimes I can't keep down. I can't do pork or chicken! I do only about 48 oz of Water. I don't get all my protein in. I try, but can't. I've lost 50 total lbs. 35 lbs since my surgery on May 14. I'm pleased with my progress, but wish food wouldnt get soooo stuck!! Ugh, terrible feeling. WLS: 5/14/13- HW: 273 SW: 258 CW: 223 GW:
