reinangel 78 Posted May 8, 2013 Ohyeah! ready to drink shakes. the Cookies and creme and Bananas and creme are the best.
Sparklette 381 Posted May 8, 2013 Be creative with the shakes, add different things to it. I have the vanilla cream whey isolate, and it's bleh by it's self. I started adding sugar free coffee Creamer, and flavorings, and spices. I made a hazelnut cinnamon shake yesterday, it was super tasty. 1 Kwagner01 reacted to this
caitiegirly07 31 Posted May 8, 2013 That sounds good! The only one I have been able to do it the Special K pre mixed but they're expensive. Have you guys tried the tasteless Protein?
Sparklette 381 Posted May 8, 2013 I haven't tried the tasteless yet.
khaw 10 Posted May 9, 2013 I tried "tasteless." Yeah it tastes awful!! I'd start adding things to you shakes! Can you have fruit? I did sugar free Carmel, decaff instant coffee ice milk and vanilla or chocolate protein! Was like a Carmel mocha! Or try adding sugarfree pudding or Jello powder
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted May 9, 2013 Flavorless maybe, tasteless it ain't!!! 1 Dorian reacted to this
Dorian 683 Posted May 9, 2013 I put Unjury unflavored in some Soup, and it was all I could taste! Id rather drink good shakes and get my Protein that way. It is a taste that I just can't get used too.
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted May 9, 2013 I should have kept a last of all the different types I've tried. I'm sure I spent a fortune . I'm trying so hard to not need a Protein supplement but I'm just not making it!!!! SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted May 9, 2013 I don't mind the matrix samples I have had Cappuccino this am and it was good. I have the Syntrax Nectars fuzzy navel, lemonade, and caribbean cooler. Some days okay, some repulsive. Also have the Syntrax sweets double stuffed cookie, strawberry mousse, and vanilla bean....those I can tolerate, usually . But just don't wanna have to!!!! I'm a brat :/ HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight
1HauteDiva 26 Posted May 9, 2013 Honestly no one can tell you what Protein shakes you will like. We can tell you which ones we like but you may try them and hate them. Also shakes that you like pre-op you may hate post-op because our tastes tend to change. Like others have said you will have to try different shakes so you may want to order samples this way you won't spend a lot of money on a shake that you hate. Jazz them up yourself. Some syntax Nectars taste better if you mix them with crystal light. You can try adding fruit or flavoring to a vanilla Protein Shake, add ice, blend, and it becomes a Protein smoothie. Add chocolate protein to your iced coffee and it becomes a mocha coffee. Experiment, I promise you it gets easier. As for sticking to your diet pre-op, I fell off the wagon a few times myself pre-op. it's a learning experience and like I said before it gets easier over time. You'll be surprised but you'll get to the point where you don't get hungry and you'll be forcing yourself to eat. Wasn't too bad, but by the end of the glass, I couldn't take it! I am just wanting regular ice cold Water.
Tcisme 13 Posted May 9, 2013 That sounds good! The only one I have been able to do it the Special K pre mixed but they're expensive. Have you guys tried the tasteless Protein? I found a tasteless protein... It isn't whey tho.... It's 100% soy isolate... Seriously no taste. No smell... I love it. You can add it to anything.
elli'smommy 160 Posted May 9, 2013 Something I've started doing that may save you a little money and time is get online and contact any company that makes the Protein Shake or Bariatric product you want to try and ask them to mail you a sample pack. I've contact Bariatric Advantage, Cytosport who makes Muscle Milk lite and Bell Plantation who makes PB2; all are sending me samples :-).
