LindsJ83 56 Posted May 9, 2013 Hey hero! Welcome ; ) The four of us can be newbies (and be excited) together!! I go for my info session on the 21rst - I forgot to tell you KD! I found a new session that won't make me wait so long!!! Or maybe I did, I can't remember. Anyway, hoping to meet with the surgeon by the end of the month and get this thing going! I'm on Day 2 of "new way of eating" and it hasn't been as bad as I thought. I started My Fitness Pal. You guys should check it out if you haven't already. It is AMAZING. I love it. Chew chew chew, no straws, no drinking and eating at the same time, that kinda thing. Guess they are preparing me for life after surgery. I love My Fitness Pal! kdgaines 41 Posted May 9, 2013 That's neat!!!! I might have to try it out. They told me not to start changing the way I eat until. Meet the nutritionist which is the 20th then I will find out what to do. But for after surgery I might try it! I did however go on and stop drinking sodas this week!! hek1127 166 Posted May 9, 2013 Hi ladies! I am at the start of my journey too and starting at a similar weight. My highest when I first met my surgeon was 370. Hopefully I will hear in about a week. I'm looking for a June date! Kd I'm in NC too. Where are you? I live in winston salem.
kdgaines 41 Posted May 9, 2013 Hek that's awesome I hope you get a date soon! I live in Archdale which is about 30-45mins from WS. I'm having my surgery in high point. Where are you having yours at?

kdgaines 41 Posted May 9, 2013 That's great. My clinic requires a TON of stuff for instance I have to write a 10 page research paper, contact ten previous patients, a patient consent form that is 12 pages and each question has to be answered in a paragraph, and lots of reading and signatures. Does wf require that? From what I've found out they are the only one that does and that of course sucks but if it allows me to have the surgery then I'll do if! hek1127 166 Posted May 9, 2013 No I didn't have to do any of that at WF. they are even taking care of all the insurance paperwork. If you are still early in the process you may want to look into WF and see if they can offer a bit of an easier process.
nursejb 38 Posted May 9, 2013 Hey! I'm 25 and I just started my journey. I go for my first seminar tomorrow. This is my second time trying this out I began the process last time but with school I decided to wait. Now I'm finished with school and I couldn't be more excited to get this started! I'm hoping to have surgery this summer and could use all the support available. me too! my second time around too, I don't think I was ready for this year before last but now I'm ready to do this. Good luck
kdgaines 41 Posted May 9, 2013 That's awesome good luck!! I know I wouldn't have succeeded if I did it last time but two years later I'm more passionate and driven to have it and to be successful with it!
kdgaines 41 Posted May 9, 2013 I've already gotten the paper started and all my appointments made. They have been doing it awhile and are on of the higher ranked clinics in the nation. It's a tough process but like others say... It helps the understand it better, your not as nervous and the surgeons are dedicated to helping you the most they can. It's a lot of work but it's worth it!
kailie 238 Posted May 9, 2013 ... It's all going to be worth it in the end!!! I'm so happy that everything's happening so close to each other! Kdgaines you are certainly keeping me sane and on track!! *** dopleganger!!!***
