caitiegirly07 31 Posted May 7, 2013 Good for you!!!! I remember the seminar was a huge step. You can do this!
LindsJ83 56 Posted May 7, 2013 So, I was able to register for another seminar that is only 2 weeks away! The benefit of this hospital is that the dr has performed the gastric bypass on one of my friends as well as 3 of her cousins and all have been incredibly happy. Started MyFitnessPal too so that I can get as much weight off as I can before I see the dr. It seems like this is all I can think about!!!!
kdgaines 41 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm the same way I can't stop thinkin about! My seminar went great, they called me today an set up all my appointments. Now to do all the paper work and approval from my insurance. As of now there aiming for June!!!!
LindsJ83 56 Posted May 7, 2013 That is unbelievable! I'm so jealous! I'm trying to get everything organized now - the amount of paperwork is crazy. Who do you have for insurance and what do they require? Mine is a letter of medical necessity, prior documentation and/or physician notes that total 6 months of attempts made and a psych eval. I have a journal of about 4 months worth of food and exercise from a few years ago. It's lurking around the house somewhere and I'm trying to find it!!! Haha...I'm SOOOO happy for you!!!! kdgaines 41 Posted May 7, 2013 Thank you so much!! I have BCBS of Illonois (my dads company for some reason we out of state. Lol) they require my 10% up front, documentation from doctor and surgeon, BMI over 40, 18 or older, psych appointment, and 7-10 day for approval
HeroOfThisStory 24 Posted May 8, 2013 Hello ladies! I am 23 and decided to start this journey with my best friend. She found out it isn't covered by her insurance but I'm still going through with the process. It's nice to have this forum because I know she is devastated and I don't like to talk to her about it but I'm so excited I need someone who understands! I actually work for my insurance company which has me nervous/more excited at the same time! I started my 6 month diet May 1st and am just going to take it one month at a time. Hopefully I will have a surgery date around the beginning of December. It's so nice to finally find people my age going through the same things because Google results haven't been much luck for me. So excited for all of you and can't wait to see what the future holds for us!!

kailie 238 Posted May 8, 2013 It's all coming together so fast I'm afraid I'm going to hit a speed bump and get hung up on something for months and my insurance will run out before I get to finish this process and then have to start all over with my secondary insurance as my primary

jnetty87 0 Posted May 8, 2013 Hi ladies! I'm 26 and had the surgery April 24th! I'm 2 weeks post OP and am down 27 lbs! If you ever have any questions feel free to message me! I also have a YouTube channel where I have documented my process. YouTube is great and you can learn a lot from people who have gone through the process. That's my latest video
HeroOfThisStory 24 Posted May 8, 2013 I will be 26 in October I'd check with both insurances in case you do have to do 6 months that way you have a heads up on what to do if your secondary becomes primary during the process. Good luck!
