So I see this car...

Yes, actually I've wondered the same thing. It reminds of virtual bumper stickers too. You know, the ones people put under their user names and then wonder why they get questioned about it. Some people even get a little testy b/c it's been "discussed into the ground". If you choose to display your views, expect to get responses and/or questions. How ironic indeed!
I welcome questions and/or responses, when done appropriately, 3loves. I'm sorry, Mr. 3loves to me. I've had many great conversations about them.

I have a VW Jetta TDI, which means I get 600 miles on a 13 gallon tank of diesel gas. I drive about 600 miles a week, so literally I just LOVE my car! :)

BUT we are looking for an old VW van to fix up!

I have a picture I think you'll enjoy, if I can find it out there somehwere. I took it in Mexico. It's a bright orange VW bus, but somehow -- it's really short. I don't know if they came that way or if it was something custom, but it was defintely love at first sight. :)

Actually, what's ironic about it?

Trust me, at 5' 2" with a small bone structure, fat is fat. Short or tall those extra pounds show. I have a girlfriend who says women become invisible to men as a love interest once they cross over the 200 pound mark.

As for bumper stickers, I don't have any on my vehicle and don't always agree with what some say but it's America and I respect their right to freedom of expression... even if the sticker is hurtful.

Since I am now under the 200 pound limit, I figure I should be attracting men. I'm not. So I question the 200 pounds limit.

People up here in Canada don't usually put bumper stickers on their cars. I think that we are afraid that we will get rust build-up around them. I guess the only one I have seen is the breast cancer ribbon.

I agree with the Canadians. I don't ever put bumper stickers on my car because I once had a University of Louisville parking sticker on my bumper and it rusted out. Since then, no bumper stickers.

Oy, yes. I'm the same way about car "bras". DH had one on a white car once, and it was a real doozy on the paint job.

Yeah, I can't justify screwing up my nice paint for a $2.00 bumper sticker, no matter how clever it is. Plus I live in Kentucky. What I want to put on it probably wouldn't go over well, and I like my car too much to risk it.

We have bumper stickers on the balmy Canadian west coast. I don't have any because I like to be as anonymous as possible on the road.

My favourite sticker: Put down the phone and drive!

SPeaking of anonymity on the road -- have you seen the ones where there's a stick figure representative of each family member, with their first names, and then a "The Whatevers" on top? (E.g. "The Smiths" on top, and a dad stick figure that says "Raymond" below, and a "Glenda" mother, and then three children, all named as well.) That always scares me, on their behalf, because that's enough information for someone creepy to do a good bit of harm.

No one is advocating for people to not have stickers. They're just so gosh darned ironic sometimes.

I wasn't aware I was doing that.

Miscommunication, me thinks. :)

I haven't met a VW that I don't love yet! There is just something about those cars!

I dont have bumper stickers.

I particularly hate cutesy girlie ones, Ripcurl and Billabong ones (surfgear) that all the silly little 18 year old girls get around with. FIGJAM, etc for all the hoons. Puhlease. I dont feel the need to broadcast my feelings, my status or my political ideology on my car.

But the irony of a complete and utter slob with a No Fat Chicks sticker doesnt escape me. What a loser.

What is FIGJAM?

I've from San Diego, so I'm accustomed to surfer brands. As you would be. But I see them here. And in Kansas, too. :paranoid

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
