Been absolutely STARVING lately. 3 months out, have my shake around 8 and I'm dying right now. Had a few jelly Beans, now having a banana. Already drank a ton of Water. Will have lunch around 1- 1:30 where I'm sure I'm eating too much. Then din din tonight. Doing between 700-1000 calories while 2 weeks ago I couldn't get past 600. Feels like I'm doing everything wrong and nutritionist is no help. Getting very frustrated and feel like giving up

Giving up is out of the question! Try adjusting your Protein to get more in, or up your exercise to compensate.

But you need to keep your head up!

I just don't get why I'm hungry I thought that was the point of the surgery. Plus I never know when I'm full. Just feels like a waste

It sounds like you are experiencing head hunger. I get that a lot when someone around me is eating or I'm seeing food on tv or Facebook. I remind myself that I just ate a hour ago and I am fine. As of feeling full....some people don't and that's why it's very important to measure your food. I still do at 5 months out. I don't have to but I feel better in my mind that I did and I wasn't guessing. I carry Protein bars with me all the time and a packet of shake mix. At least that's something healthy and is what you need.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
