I am in AZ and it has been almost 100 for three days straight. I feel soooo thirsty for large amounts of cold Water. I feel like I am struggling and not getting enough water. We are looking at a 120 degree summer starting soon. Not sure how I am going to stay hydrated on just this small amount of water every day. Anyone else worry about this?

I did at first but not now. Mine was April 1st. I'm now having no problems getting fluids in and I can drink regularly and I prefer it ice cold. So. It took me a few weeks. I can't guzzle...but I can drink, not sip. Just give it time

I totally understand. I always just want to chug it down. But when I find myself thirsty I just eat Popsicles and suck on ice.

I use to guzzle diet pepsi before surgery, I drank like 6-7 diet pepsi's a day. After surgery it was a BIG change for me but I did it. I am 1 yr post op and I started drinking normally about 7-8 monts post op. My surgeon required 64 oz. of Water daily, I had no problem getting that in as long as is sip, sip, sip, sip,sip all day & evening. I ate lots of ice pops too and still do :) You will do ok further down the road, just sip consantly and you will get your water in.

Yes but it taste like all chemicals now. My taste buds totally changed after surgery. I have a few sips of soda every now and then but NOTHING like I use to drink.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
