I would check with your surgeon before you do anything. Every time I go for a check-up I have to list all supplements, pills, meds I am taking.

You're the second person today who's mentioned a "colonic"....what is this and why is it beneficial? Also, what are hcg drops?

Hcg drops are some type of Weightloss supplement, and Colonic is a procedure where a tube is inserted in the rectum and its suppose to clean out any and all bacteria from the body and old fecal matter to help the body eliminate toxins and help with easier bowel movements and induce Weightloss.

I've had both done before surgery. I'm not sure how effective it is or the side effects after surgery. Before surgery, the HCG drops has a lot of restrictions that you have to follow including no lotion, etc. It completely messed up my hormones and was just another temporary fix. I've had several sessions of colonics when I was having stomach / gluten sensitivity problems. It did help improve my skin glow and move some really old stuff out of my system, but did not help with weight loss.

And when that guy says those people lose more than the acerage gb patient, I wonder what the basis of his research is, because we are all different and he does not know us all. I have lost way above" average" and havent done any silly weight loss tricks. Those days are done for me. I just work this tool and it works for me in exchange. You have to have a plan and forget about shortcuts. Those are the old days and this is not a race.

Migraines that lasted over six months. Memory lapses, and hair loss. Just not worth it. The stupid crap we do to lose weight.

Since surgery I really enjoy saying I don't need any of that stuff anymore surgery is better than any of that and is all that we need to get the weight off. Just follow what the surgeon and nutritionist ordered.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
