I had one in for a week and just got it pulled today. I was SO scared that it would be painful. Actually' date=' I didn't even feel it once the whole time it was in and didn't realize when the nurse had pulled it out that it was done. Lol all in all, not a bad experience. The worst part was trying to shower with it. I figured out that if I pinned it on the shower curtain, it was a piece of cake. Haha[/quote']

I am still in the hospital but I will have a drain for a month

My doc gave me a plastic lanyard to put around my neck to hook it to! Works right nice :)

I'm not sure if this is the place to join' date=' but I just found this forum today and what awesome information I've found! It has also been great to see that everyone so far has had pretty good experiences. I am having surgery on 6/19 (revision from lap band). I am 30 years old, mother to two little ones and I'm super nervous, but feel peace about my decision. I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you![/quote']

Welcome! You will find great support in this forum.

Does anyone else have zero energy? I'm 9 days post op and I'm finding even little tasks are difficult like taking a shower or doing a load of laundry. I feel like there's a hundred pounds pressing down on my shoulders. I managed to get all my Protein in yesterday but was short on my Water. Most days I get most if not all my Fluid in but I'm short on protein.

I'm whooped too. I can only tackle about ten minutes of housework at a time. It's like my apartment exploded around me and I'll never get it back in order.

I really need prayers today! I went to my pre-op appointment at the hospital today and they are concerned that my fast pulse is because of my history of hyperthyroid. If the tests come back abnormal they will cancel my surgery!! Months of preparation and weeks of practically starving myself on this pre-op diet will be all for nothing! Please pray for great test results!

I found I'm able to take larger sips which has me really excited because my mouth felt dry almost taking baby sips. Is this normal? It's maybe like a half of a mouthful and only two or three at a time. But it's easier than baby sipping for an hour to drink a bottle of Water.< /p>

I'm waiting to be admitted. My surgeons last patient is still finishing up. My nerves were on high alert last night but I'm feeling more calm about my decision today. My really close friend text me this morning and said "I love you Sara, I'm SO proud of you". =D

I can take larger sips as well as long as it's not around the time that I eat

My energy if fine for about half a day then I need a nap. My doctor told me to try to get fluids and protein in as much as possible but not to push it right now since we're just getting into this. I will start counting at 4 weeks.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
