Hey girlie... I wanted to say. Remember me saying all the trouble I had on the 2nd day? I wonder if your intestines aren't just taking a million years to wake up like mine did. It took me 4 days just to pass a tiny toot. Lol when my intestines were still asleep' date=' they had to give me IV fluids cause instead of my intestines pushing fluids down, they would come back up because they were working yet. Some people take FOREVER for intestines and bowels to get working again. Maybe that's the case. If it is, do as much walking around your house as you're physically able to without nourishment to keep you going.[/quote']

I hope that's all it is. I've been trying to stand and walk around my apartment. Also took a really long hot shower to try and relax and get things moving.

Hey all. I just had to post something that I am patting myself on the back for. In the past I would often turn to food during periods of high stress (haven't we all at some point?). Well today was an unusually stressful day, and I went to McDonald's. I got my son and husband some food - AND NOTHING FOR MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!' While they ate everything, I chugged my Water. It was tough, but I did it. And McDonald's was my biggest weak spot. OMG. Anyway, I guess the mindset change is in effect. I know I won't be perfect, but at least I can see the changes in myself.

I didn't mean to send just yet. I was going to say that its going to be tough to rid myself of the head hunger tonight. Still not hungry for food though.

Progress today surgery was 5 days ago. Up until today i've pretty much only been able to drink room temp a Water and nothing else because of spasms. But finally today I was feeling a bit better so I have had 2 sugar free popsicles, a 1/4 cup of Jello, and a 1/4 cup of chicken broth. It was a pretty nice change. Hope all of my surgery buddies are feeling good today

This is encouraging to me. Thank you! I'm 4 days post op and having the same issues. I would feel so much better if these spasms would stop and I could hold things down.

Not sure if my scale is working properly but it says that I've lost another 9lbs since yesterday morning. Is that even possible?!?!?

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
