Baconville 578 Posted June 21, 2013 My last weekend before surgery! Won't be going out to dinner since I am on the liquid diet, but hope to take in a movie, maybe get out on a lake if the weather cooperates. Still very disappointed in the results of the liquid diet. I have followed it to the letter and have only lost 2 pounds. Only taking in about 700 - 800 calories a day plus working out. However I have lost 35 pounds since April. I talked to the NUT at my clinic and they know I am doing everything right, so even if the weight loss is not there on Tuesday, it will not jeopardise my surgery. Apparently the amount of weight I have lost is pretty rare compared to most of their patients. You know it dawns on me that this is why this surgery is so important to me. In the past when I would hit a point like this I would give up and go back to old habits. There is no going back after Tuesday! 2 hautechic13 and favor reacted to this

But like you I was working on losing before this and have lost 26 lbs. I think it's why we're not seeng those big numbers now. But we will soon!

I had stars in my eyes thinking I would go into surgery 40 - 50 pounds down. Sometimes reality is the hardest pill to swallow! I know that those numbers can't be far away. We will both be there very soon! 1 zuzuspetals reacted to this

Ms_Kb718 22 Posted June 22, 2013 Surgery was yesterday morning. It took a little under 3 hours to remove the band and convert to bypass. Haven't really had much regular pain and no gas pain at all. I've been up walking 3 times, once last night and twice today. I'm so happy and blessed. I know everyone has a different experience but I had mentally prepared myself for the worst. I'm so glad that my pain and discomfort are at a minimum. My biggest complaint at this point is a dry mouth and I can't even have ice chips until day 2 after surgery, so tomorrow. God is so good! Keep your positive attitude, it will go a long way!
