I took eight weeks off too. So glad I did. I am a bit sore. But since it was a revision I think that is normal. I have myself ob an eating schedule. I can definitely say no hunger or interest in food at all.

Yeah me either, I aint thinking about food, as bad as I felt the last two days, it's far from my thoughts, lol..

I had surgery May 30th. I go back to work Monday. I took two weeks but the second one feels more like vacation. I could've gone back after one. I've been doing housework' date=' cutting grass, grocery shopping, fun shopping, painting, you name it. I'm good.[/quote']

How long did it take for the pain/soreness to ease up? -wow Im 5 days out and still sore and in pain, my throat still hurts from the tube

I must say' date=' as good as it was to drink something other than Clear Liquids, I could still go for some meat or salt. Lol I can't wait for Wednesday when I can have a scrambled egg with some cheese on top and tuna salad for lunch. Can't. Wait![/quote']

Just made my way home from the hospital. Pain isn't bad at all. Actually I think getting my gallbladder out was worse. I did go home on oxygen because my levels kept falling. I'm so thankful to be home! Yay! Tomorrow I get to see my kids!

Ok' date=' starting to feel a lil better, I guess it will take my body 24 hours to come back around, I was feeling so bad, I was crying, feeling pitiful, although I don't have the support from my family like I thought I would have, mainly my husband, I'm still strong and I will get through this because I got someone more meaningful, that will hold my hand, listen to me, that will ease my pain and heal my heart and that is my Heavenly Father, I thank God for His Grace and Mercy... I hope everyone is having a great weekend.[/quote']

Hang in there! My family doesn't know about my upcoming surgery...you did this to be a better you...it will get better! Usually when you go through a struggle that means a blessing us around the corner

Anyone else experiencing itching around incisions?

Yes! Lol go buy some hydrocortisone cream and put it on. Works wonders! The itching means your incisions are healing properly.

One of my friends asked why I didn't just do diet and exercise instead of have the surgery.

I. Hate. People.

My mother in law says the same thing. I really want to tell the people who question my decision to shut up, and watch. Lol

I'm almost 22, and my mom had me on diets starting age 11. Going to the Y to swim and work out. She even enrolled me in curves. Diets and exersize just don't work for some people.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
